Author Contract
Upon acceptance of the submitted ‘sample’ work of an author, the author will agree to comply with all items outlined in this contract where author responsibility is required.
Upon accepting the submitted ‘sample’ work of an author, OriginalWritings.Net agrees to comply with all items outlined in this contract where publisher responsibility is required.
As an author, you agree to accomplish the following to the best of your ability:
-You must write quality work*, and submit new material at least every thirty (30) days. If there is a problem with this, due to medical or other reasons, then notification must be given to OriginalWritings.Net administrators. At that time a waver may be given to increase the deadline.
*Quality work implies that the author will write work that will please the public and contain limited spelling or grammar mistakes, if any. Correct punctuation will be used, as well as decent sentence structure and narration.
-Third grade writing level does not yield quality work when writing a piece for an adult audience. However, a lower level may be necessary for younger audiences.
-You must aid in advertising the site; by advertising you will be able to increase your pay*
*Pay is dependent upon the amount of users subscribed to your stories per month; 10 cents will be paid to you for every user subscribed to your stories each month.
-You will not and can not publish material that is submitted to us with any other party. Legal recourse will be taken, as that is a breach of contract. We are your publisher of that material, and own part of the copyright.
-You will not and can not take materials (i.e. characters, places) from work that is not your own unless given permission by owner; proof of consent should be sent to us by yourself and by the legal owner.
As your publisher, we agree to accomplish the following to the best of our ability:
-We will give exposure to our authors by providing them with a place to post their written works where they may be read by thousands worldwide.
-We will edit works submitted to us so that the finished product is the best it can be. We will not change any part of the story, but correct any punctuation, spelling, and grammar errors. Author will be notified of any other changes, and be asked before any major changes are made.
-We will prevent theft of work; legal recourse will be taken should there be any issues regarding a breech of copyright for our author’s works.
-We will provide our author with a free account so that they may take part in all benefits outlined in both the Author Contract and Terms of Service.
